Solo Birthday Vacation, 'YOLO' thou!!!

Hey Loves,

Scorpio's are truly amazing specimens, I just wanted to put that out there for the universe to know. HEHE!

So this year I decided to do something totally out of my comfort zone and element, I went on vacation, for my birthday, SOLO, and you know what it wasn't that bad. I didn't feel like the hassle of asking any of my friends or family to attend my impromptu last minute trip to Mexico, plus I just wanted to Relax, Relate, Release and I didn't need company for that. I was a little nervous at first but then I said to myself, "YOLO" and packed my bags.

When packing for any trip now (because back in the day I would over pack, I had a suitcase for shoes and accessories, another for my clothes, OH and don't forget the carry-on) I try to stick to a couple of rules:

1. If the shoe does not go with more than one FIT, it doesn't go.

2. Toiletries, jewelry, make-up and an extra set of clothes goes in my carry-on, just in case my luggage is lost when checking a bag.

3. If it's a short trip (less than 5 days) make everything fit into a carry-on b/c it's not that serious. Some are able to pack 2 weeks of FITS into a carry-on, but I'm not that good yet.

Here you see my little carry-on bag for my 5 days and 4 nights in Cancun, Mexico.

Below are just a few of the pieces I took with me and how I paired my shoes to go with multiple FITS. I ended up taking only the leopard, black and brown suede lace-up sandals (I guess I had a theme going there) and one pair of black rubber flip flops for the beach and pool areas. Each shoe went with at least 2 FITS.

Yes my little mustard colored dress was only 7 bucks from H&M.

I love this little tye dye number I found while shopping in NYC with a client.

This 2-piece crop top and pencil skirt set was a Nordstrom sale find for less than $25

You won't believe this cute crochet top was only $6 from Marshall's!

I surprised myself because I did not take not one pair of heels on this trip, and those who knows me, I'm almost always in heels!

This pretty maxi number never even made it out of the suitcase, so I probably could have left back and couple of FITS, but I like having options. You never know how you will feel one day or what you may get in to.
